Introducing......the SoundPlug $39.95ea + S/HOrder Now!An all too familiar scenario...So, you checked out all your equipment and cables in the shop. You arrived on site and loaded in the whole sound system, and now part of it is not working. Somewhere along the line something is not getting signal. We have all been there, and no matter how many years we have in the business, this familiar situation repeats itself time and time again. So, what do we do? Well I don't know about you, but after I first make sure that I haven't done something completely stupid, I then resort to indiscriminately swapping out XLR cables in the hope that signal will start flowing again. The problem with this approach is that I usually waste time swapping out a bunch of perfectly good XLR cables before I find the culprit. Even if you use a shop cable tester, you still have to take the cable out of the system and get to both ends before you know if it is the bad one or not. Not really a 21st Century solution is it? What if...Since you are driving the sound system with program signal anyway, what if you could just unplug an XLR cable and hold it up to your ear and hear if sound is going through it? Wouldn't that save a lot of time and hassle? That is precisely what SoundPlug allows you to do. Unplug the downstream end of the XLR cable, plug in the SoundPlug and hear if there is program signal flowing. Check out the FAQ for more information on how it works. Convenience. The SoundPlug is small. It just sits in you pocket waiting to save you time and frustration the next time you have a problem. You can also clip it to your key chain using the KeyClip. It is also a passive device so there are no batteries to run down. Ever! DMX anyone?.The SoundPlug can also be adapted to check for DMX signal. Clip on the LiteClip and way you go! A rainbow of colors to choose from. The SoundPlug comes in six different colors. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Violet. So you won't get yours confused with your coworkers. Adaptors for other audio connectors.Adaptors can also be easily made up to allow the SoundPlug to connect to other audio connectors such as RCA and 1/4" Jacks. Just remember that the two wires carrying the signal you want to listen to need to be connected to pins 2 & 3 of the Male XLR that connects to the SoundPlug. We will be offering ready made adaptors in the near future for all the major line level audio connection standards. We will even be offering one that allows computer soundcards to be checked. Watch this space... Please Note. The SoundPlug comes as a fully assembled and working device. Because of the proprietary nature of its construction we cannot offer it as a kit.
